The story in Bumilangit Cinematic Universe is formed from a variety of stories and characters from the legendary Indonesian folklores illustrated by the publisher Bumilangit, which was founded in 2003, is the first milestone at the beginning of an effort to revive the storytelling culture of 1950s comics in Indonesia. Bumilangit is a family for many creators from the early generation to the present, as well as loyal fans who always appreciate the works of our artists. Now Bumilangit is a leading character-based entertainment company in Indonesia which manages the largest character library, more than 500 comic characters that have been published over the past sixty years. The strength of our characters is not just based on popularity alone, but on the wealth of comic stories of each character and in total there are more than 1,000 characters who will be appointed to Bumilangit Cinematic Universe, one of which is Gundala. As is well known, the lightning-powered Gundala was not alone in combating crime and upholding justice in Indonesia. Bumilangit Cinematic Universe (BCU) has 4 eras, namely the Era of Legends, Era of Champions, Era of Patriots, and Era of Revolution.
BCU began in the eruption of Mount Toba 75,000 years before Christ. Then there is also the story set in the last ice age, to the Sundalandia civilization.
Then for the Era of Champions, the era of the warriors of the archipelago kingdom. Some figures from this era are Si Buta Dari Gua Hantu and Mandala.
Era of Patriots is the era of heroes who live in the present, such as Gundala, Sri Asih, Godam, Sembrani, and Tira.
